16 m x 8 m1.70 m netLines

To set up a beach tennis court, mark a rectangle 16 m long by 8 m wide (doubles) with boundary lines, place the net across the middle at 1.70 m high, and tension it firmly between two posts. There are no service boxes. only the outer boundary and the centre net.

Laying Out the Court.

  1. Measure the rectangle: 16 m x 8 m for doubles (16 m x 4.5 m for singles). See court dimensions.
  2. Mark the lines with sand-court boundary tape or webbing, pegged at the corners and pulled taut.
  3. Set the posts at the midpoint of the long sides and string the net across the 8 m width.
  4. Set net height to 1.70 m (ITF men: 1.80 m), even across the full width.
  5. Tension the net firmly so it does not sag. that is it. no service boxes to mark.

Beach tennis shares the same footprint as a doubles beach volleyball court, so you can often reuse an existing court by changing the net height.
