Weight, balance, core, grip. what actually matters, and a simple pick for your level.

WeightShapeBudget

For your first beach tennis paddle, choose a lighter, control-oriented model with an even balance and a comfortable grip. weight and power matter more as you advance. Paddles are solid and perforated (no strings), usually carbon or fibreglass with an EVA foam core, up to about 50 cm long per ITF specs.

The Five Things to Check.

1. Weight

Lighter paddles (control) are more forgiving and easier on the arm. heavier paddles add power for advanced players. Beginners should start light.

2. Balance

Even balance is the safe all-round choice; head-heavy adds power, head-light adds control and quick hands at the net.

3. Core & surface

EVA foam cores are standard; softer foam = control, firmer = power. Carbon faces are stiffer and more powerful than fibreglass.

4. Grip & comfort

It should feel secure in your hand. you play barefoot in the heat, so grip and vibration dampening matter.

5. Your level

Beginner: light, control, fibreglass, even balance. Intermediate: balanced carbon/fibreglass mix. Advanced: carbon, slightly head-heavy for power. See the full equipment guide.
