EquipmentThe Beach Tennis Ball

It looks like a tennis ball, but it is not. Here is exactly what to buy and why.

Stage 2Depressurized~50% pressure

Beach tennis uses a depressurized (low-compression) ball. specifically an ITF Stage 2 (orange) ball, about 50% lower pressure than a standard tennis ball. The lower pressure slows the ball down so it can be controlled in the air during fast no-bounce rallies.

Why a Depressurized Ball?

A full-pressure tennis ball would fly too fast for a small, no-bounce court. The ITF Stage 2 ball. the same orange "transition" ball used in player development. has roughly half the internal pressure, so it travels slower and sits up for volleys. It is the standard for ITF beach tennis competition.
