Net Cord (Let)
A net cord occurs when the ball clips the top of the net during a serve or during play. In beach tennis, a net cord on the serve results in a let (the serve is replayed). Per ITF Beach Tennis Rules Rule 7.8, a let on serve means the service is retaken without penalty; the server does not lose a serve attempt. During a rally, if the ball touches the net cord and still lands in the correct court, the ball is in play and the rally continues. Net cords during play are not lets.
