Drive

A drive is a powerful groundstroke hit with a relatively flat or topspin trajectory, usually from mid-court or deep in the court after the opponent's ball lands near the player's feet. In beach tennis the drive is often played off a ball that has not yet touched the ground (a volley) or played immediately after the opponent's stroke crosses the net. The drive is intended to create pace and depth to push the opponent back or win the point outright.
