Ace

An ace is a serve that the receiver fails to touch, landing cleanly in the correct service box and winning the point directly. The term is statistical rather than formally defined in the ITF Beach Tennis Rules, but it is universally recognized in scorekeeping. An ace is the most efficient way to win a service point, as the receiver has no opportunity to play the ball. Because beach tennis uses no-ad scoring and golden points, an ace at 40-40 wins the game immediately for the server.
